Program Content Description:
Participants will read a current article that evaluates the theoretical definitions of emotions. Givens & Wilkinson (2022) discusses the theory of constructed emotions in contrast to the classical view of emotions. An examination of how these differences look in counseling applications are discussed, as well as therapeutic implications for the client.

Program Learning Objectives:
Participants will read Givens & Wilkinson (2022) and become oriented to the theory of constructed emotion and how this theory is implemented in clinical practice.
Participants will receive supplemental content to support the information provided in Givens & Wilkinson (2022) and its implementation.
Participants will engage in an interactive content review prior to the quiz.
Participant knowledge will be demonstrated in a multiple choice assessment. Passing the quiz with 80% will automatically generate a certificate of course completion. Quizzes may be re-taken until passed.
